For those of you who missed the earlier news of this release, “FiNiN” is the second full length collaboration between Julie Tippetts (voice) and Martin Archer (woodwind, keyboards, electronics). The duo’s 2009 CD “Ghosts of Gold” was basically an album of spoken poetry plus electronic soundscapes, was a Wire top 40 album of 2009 and featured in various Jazzwise writers top 10s of the year. For this new double CD, the emphasis has moved toward extended song forms, and the sound palette has expanded to include among others percussion by Charlie Collins, guitars by Chris Sharkey, plus a string section.
