“Chi può confutare un suono?” F.Nietzsche

Dalla prima all’ultima delle nostre albe la vita viene regolata da un battito. All’inizio siamo privi di vista, tatto, olfatto, gusto: l’udito è l’unico senso che ci accompagna durante la permanenza nell’utero. Un urlo è ciò che emettiamo non appena vediamo la luce e respiriamo ossigeno per la prima volta: il poeta e filosofo latino Lucrezio ne era ben conscio, così come aveva intuito che le vibrazioni sono alla base di tutto, nell’universo da noi conosciuto. Dunque gli atomi si legano fra di loro grazie a scambi di energia dovuti a vibrazioni… E la musica tutta, è una questione di vibrazioni. Elias Canetti, riferendosi alla folla che danza, parlava di sensorio affettivo collettivo e di “folla pulsante”; Gilles Deleuze e Félix Guattari idearono il concetto di “macchina da guerra nomadica”, una forza d’aggressione o resistenza che ha lo scopo di preservare l’eterogeneità nei confronti dell’apparato di stato, il quale opera attraverso l’omogeneizzazione ed il totalitarismo. Steve Goodman, in arte Kode9, ha scorto nel sound system questa macchina da guerra nomadica.
La musica crea affetti, nuove modalità di sentire e di mutare lo stato emotivo in chi la produce o solamente l’ascolta. Qui alla Lil Pitch crediamo nel suo potere epifanico e nel fatto che essa sia, più della parola e delle immagini, il più potente mezzo di comunicazione universale.

From the first to the last of our dawns life is ruled by a (heart)beat. At the beginning we are sightless, tactless, olfactionless, tasteless: hearing is the only sense that accompanies us during our stay inside the womb. A scream is what we emit as soon as we see the light and we breathe oxygen for the very first time: latin poet and philosopher Lucretius was aware of this in the same way he foresaw that vibrations are at the base of everything, in the universe we know. So atoms bond thanks to energy exchanges due to vibrations… And music, all of it, is a matter of vibrations. Elias Canetti, referring to the dancing crowd, talked about the transformation of the collective into an entity he named “throbbing crowd”; Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari developed the concept of “nomadic war machine”, an aggressive or resistance power which goal is that of preserving the heterogeneity towards the state apparatus, that operates through the use of homogenization and totalitarianism. Steve Goodman, aka Kode9, saw in the sound system this nomadic war machine.
Music creates affections, new modalities of feeling and mutating the affective state of who produces it or just listens to it. Here at Lil Pitch we believe in its epiphanic power and in the fact that it is, more than words or images, the most powerful and universal way of communication.
